A enkel lösning är att ta bort alla efterföljder en efter en och kontrollera om återstående uppsättning element är i sorterad ordning eller inte. Tidskomplexiteten för denna lösning är exponentiell.



En effektivt tillvägagångssätt använder begreppet hitta längden på den längst ökande efterföljden av en given sekvens.
